We’re coming down to the last week of the season at Camp Lochalsh! Weather has stayed surprisingly warm, allowing us to complete more projects and enjoy the last days of sunshine.
There are now only 3 weeks left until our Early Rate ends! Check out the below link to see our flyer, and don’t hesitate to call or email for your reservation!
2019 Catch & Release Contest
We’d like to announce the winner of our 2019 Catch & Release Contest! Bob Eadie entered 27″ and 28″ walleyes while he was up on vacation from Virginia. His strategy was as follows:
“I had my best success trolling around Poachers and Tie Bays. I worked the points and channels into the main lake with deep diving crankbaits. Best patterns were perch and blue/silver. This was the third week of July and I found nice fish from 15′-20′ deep. All my fish were released.”
We’d like to thank Bob and everyone else for entering the contest and helping us to fish Wabatongushi Lake with conservation in mind. We will be running the contest again next year, so get ready!
Moose Hunting
It’s been a good run for our moose hunters as well. The September archery hunt was a success with two bulls shot, and so far our rifle moose hunters have gotten one cow, whose back straps made for a delicious Sunday dinner!
Improvements
What else have we been up to around camp? It was past time to take down Cabin 9 at Camp Lochalsh. Buying the backhoe allowed us to take on new projects in a more efficient and entertaining way. We emptied out the cabin, then Andy started knocking it down with the backhoe.
At Sandy Bay, we repaired the bedroom and bathroom walls which had warped due to uneven footings (which were recently fixed). The interior of the cabin has been stripped and will be refurnished next season.
— It’s been a great season so far, and before we know it, we’ll be on the sport show circuit seeing many of you in person!

Can you post your show circuit schedule ? I’m right next door in Michigan, ( Detroit area. Stinks. I’m a dedicated country boy😥 and miss the woods !) but probably won’t make it there till 2021. I can hit a show or two and meet you all. Looking forward to it, have a great winter, stay warm.
