With spring around the corner, there’s still plenty to be done around camp!
While temperatures are rising, there’s still plenty of snow in the region– but we know it will melt quickly!

The main project this winter has been outfitting the new kitchen, pantry, and office addition to Loch Island Lodge. We began to frame this addition in September, and finished the exterior and roofing before leaving at the end of the season. We removed the office desk, one wall, and the walk-in refrigerator addition and framed a new wall. During the winter, with a generator and propane heaters running, we’re installing wiring and flooring. This kitchen will be much larger than the original space, giving us more room to serve you hearty dinners and prep our daily shore lunches. The original cabin from the 1950s where Loch Island Lodge began has come a long way, but still has the same charm that our guests come back to year after year.
We checked on the Isle of Jordan. The deck that we built last fall is holding up well under the snow load, and will be a beautiful spot for your morning coffee or after-dinner cocktails. We also toured around Wabatongushi Lake to check on the other outpost cabins. Touring the lake by snowmobile is a solitary experience compared to travelling alongside fellow anglers’ boats in the summer, but the beauty of the land is breathtaking at any time of the year.

Winter provides us with different opportunities to work on cabins and haul supplies up the lake, but we’re looking forward to the spring–– and we know you are too! As soon as there’s open water, we’ll be back in the boats, getting Loch Island Lodge and Camp Lochalsh ready for opening day!

Hi Andy,Amy and crew !
As always can’t wait to get to the inland and enjoy all the great things it offers!
Just wondering if there’s going to be any issues with all this tariffs crap going on?
Hi Dave,
Just came across today again, no issues what so ever!
Hi Andy and Staff
Pictures and renovations look great – but I can’t wait to see it in person.
We are staying on Loch Island and will be there in one month – in the middle of May.
Looking forward to do some fishing and relaxing and enjoying the beauty of Wabatongushi Lake.
